"With this open day, we're giving people a glimpse behind the scenes, presenting the companies at this location, demonstrating the processes, and, above all, inspiring young people to become interested in chemistry and a career at KremsChem," says Michael Kunz, Managing Director of KremsChem. KremsChem has been training young people in various apprenticeships for many years, offering secure employment in the region within a sustainable and innovative company.
The open day began at 10:00 a.m. with an opening ceremony. Helmut Mayer, City Councilor for Finance of the City of Krems, emphasized that "KremsChem is an industrial pillar of the city," and Vice Mayor Florian Kamleitner underscored the "deep roots in the region and the solidarity of the employees." The varied and diverse program included factory tours, a "Magic Apprentice Show," demonstrations by the company's fire brigade, various stations in the industrial park run by partner companies Bilfinger, Kemira, Prefere, and Rail Cargo Logistics, and a trip to lofty heights in a crane. "Our visitors can experience the entire industrial park and discover the exciting and diverse world of chemistry," emphasized Kunz. There was also the opportunity to learn about the various apprenticeships and exchange experiences with the apprentices – in addition to KremsChem, Kemira and Bilfinger also train apprentices at this location. “Bilfinger stands for commitment, competence and confidence,” said Reinhard Wallner, Head of Sales at Bilfinger Industrial Services. Florian Eder, Site Manager at Kemira, explained: "The Krems site focuses on materials for paper production." For Gerald Witek, Sales Manager at Prefere, the leading phenolic resin manufacturer in Europe, the open day is "a good opportunity to present the company." The young guests were enthusiastic about the presentation of the Rail Cargo locomotives in operation at the site. Felix Schreitter, Site Manager at Rail Cargo Logistics, explained: “We offer customized, optimized logistics solutions for road, rail, and shipping.”
We would like to thank all visitors for their attendance and their interest.
It was a great pleasure for us to open our doors, provide insights, and bring the world of chemistry to life.
